The parish is hosting a pancake breakfast in the church hall. Menu includes pancakes, eggs and sausage. Adults eat for $10, children over 4 years eat for $5 and kids under 4 eat free.

– The Carmelite Board is hosting an annual Day of Recollection featuring a talk by Father Roger Linnan. Registration is at 8:45 a.m. and the program runs until noon. Pro-life speaker, Camille Pauley, president and co-founder of Healing the Culture will speak at 7 p.m.

The session will begin at 5 p.m. with adoration, followed by light meal at 5:30 p.m. and listening session from 6 to 7 p.m. The Listening Session is open to everyone whether Catholic or non-Catholic. The competition will be held at St Edmond Catholic School. Winning team will go to Xavier High School in Cedar Rapids for a chance to become state champions. Free and open to the public.

Students in grades 7 to 12 are invited to attend the second annual Turn Youth Conference. Jon Konz and Father Travis Crotty are program speakers. The conference runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Non-Ascension Parish participant fee is $30, which includes t-shirt and skating admission and rental. They will serve turkey, ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, dressing, corn, salads and desserts. Tickets available at the door for $15 for adults, $6 for children ages 3 to 12.
