Sheen, a Century of Mission and a Story Still Being Written
In 1926, Pope Pius XI established World Mission Sunday so Catholics everywhere could pray and sacrifice together for the Church's missionary work.
Through his leadership, Blessed Fulton Sheen formed the faithful to understand the Holy Father’s appeal by bringing the missions into American homes and consciences.
A DAILY TRADITION
Every day at 2:00 p.m. Central Time under Fulton Sheen's direction, the staff of The Pontifical Mission Societies in New York City stopped their work to pray the World Mission Rosary together.
Seventy-five years later, we are taking up that prayer again — at the very same hour.
